I don’t know what it is about April but this seems to be the month that I’ve decided to embrace blogging challenges. I’ve just been introduced to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge and couldn’t resist putting up a photo for this week’s theme The Colours Blue and White:
I took this photo in January 2015 on the way into Cape Town, South Africa. I’m actually surprised it came out as it was so unbelievably windy that day I couldn’t keep my hair out of my face to see what I was doing (where’s an elastic band when you really need one huh?). This windy stretch of beach was really popular for kitesurfing but I was captivated by the pure white sand and clear blue sky, with that lovely silhouette of Table Mountain in the distance.
UPDATE: Thank you to Cee for featuring this photo for the CFFC Blue & White theme!
Its an amazing shot.

I think you are being a bit modest ,Kim. You are awesome at capturing images of places. Blue and white is so fresh. It reminds me of a picnic and blue and white chequered napkins and a picnic blanket. x

Thanks, Daisy. I always appreciate your feedback. You’re right, it is a lovely shot but it was kind of pot luck, I didn’t really think about anything for that photo, I just hit the button lol. My goal is to be able to take good photos deliberately and thoughtfully. That’s the dream I’m working towards 🙂
I love that mental imagery of a picnic! Amazing the thoughts that can spring from a photo 🙂 xx

Thanks, Pamela. I like that it looks deserted … there were actually a lot of people back around to my right but with a beach that big it didn’t feel crowded.

I love the sound of the sea. It’s calming and soothing. Your shot captures all of it! 🙂

I find the sea soothing as well. Which I guess is kind of strange when you think about … given that the ocean is really quite turbulent isn’t it? It’s not exactly gentle lapping water like a lake 🙂

I know. Never understood how turbulence could be so calming. It also depends on which side you’re on. On the shore – it’s beautiful. In the sea – not quite so. 🙂

Me too, Ann. They are exactly the shades and combination of colour that I’m drawn to. It’s a beautiful part of the world 🙂
