The theme for Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge this week is … Roads of Any Kind. So, I’ve opted for a dirt road. This photo was taken while on a game/safari drive in January 2015 in Etosha National Park in Namibia. I like the little touch of the zebra crossing, an animal most often thought of as black and white (even though they have some brown too).
The original photo wasn’t taken in black and white. To be honest, all I had at the time was a little “point and click” Olympus. A great camera but it doesn’t have the full range of functions that the Canon 760D I now use is equip with. But I think this photo shows, you don’t have to have all the flashy gear to take a pretty picture.
What a perfect image for this week’s challenge. I love it.

So very true Kim. A point and shoot camera can get just as good a picture. It’s all in the subject and you have a great one here. Wonderful photo.

Thanks, Miriam. Sometimes I think photography is 50% the gear and 50% the eye of the beholder! Although timing probably pays a part too …

Loved this shot, Kim! I’m so glad we visited different parts of the globe. In this way, I get to see something I may or may not see. 🙂

Exactly! I’ve been loving your recent shots of South Korea. It’s still a long way down the list though. I think I’d really like to see India next (well, after the trip I already have booked lol).

Haha! Where is your next trip booked for? India can be fantastic and despondent. It depends which side you want to focus on or want to leave as a lasting impression. 🙂 When/if you do plan a trip – I’d be happy to help. 🙂

I’m returning to Germany & Austria but also seeing some new countries by adding Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary. Also visiting Dubai for the first time.
Thanks, Cheryl. I will definitely take you up on the offer when it comes to India. I have a few ideas in mind but nothing concrete yet 🙂

It’s all gravy! I got what you meant 😀
I’m thinking there might not be a great difference in climate … Going from an Aussie winter to European summer lol 😉

Nice twist, submitting a zebra for this challenge! You encourage me to start sending photos in for these challenges as well! Maybe once May swings around… 🙂

Awesome! I’m sure you’d have some fantastic photo submissions for these challenges. I’m really enjoying them – they kind of force me to look at my photos differently 🙂

Watch out for zebras. Not something I see ever. Wonderful fun photo. 😀

Thanks, Cee. Traffic of a completely different kind to what we normally see I guess 😄

I totally agree, Michelle. It’s funny how on a safari some people get sick of seeing so many of them but I just think they’re stunning!

Me too. Get sick of seeing Zebras? Oh, please! I wish I could see one!
