Snapshot – Elephant Sands

Those who have read my posts from last year will have picked up that I have an affinity for Africa, particularly the Southern African countries like South Africa, Namibia and Botswana. In fact, I shall be returning again to South Africa in a few months time with my friend Geraint for a most epic safari (feel free to hit the link & check out his blog!). But today’s A-Z Challenge post is taking us back to Botswana, specifically to the north-eastern section of the country and a safari lodge called Elephant Sands. I was fortunate enough to spend one night there in 2013 and it was, in a word, memorable. Continue reading “Snapshot – Elephant Sands”

Snapshot – Okavango Delta

Returning to Africa for today’s travel snapshot … it seems I can’t stay away from that continent, either in my blog or in real life 🙂 As I’ve only done one previous post on Botswana, I’m going to do another … this time on my visit to the Okavango Delta. For some reason I always skip over the videos. Which is ridiculous … I’ve watched so many today and they have transported me back to that time and place in a way the photos just can’t. I confess, its got me a little teary and emotional (in a good way, don’t worry!) reminiscing about some great experiences. Continue reading “Dance … the other universal language?”

Snapshot … Chobe

As some of you will no doubt be aware by now, I’m participating in the A-Z Challenge this month. Given that today’s post must be about something starting with C and in light of my previous posts on Kruger & Etosha, I thought I’d cover yet another national park. This time it’s Chobe N.P in Botswana. Located in the north of the country, Chobe is just under
12,000 square kilometres in size. Which makes it significantly smaller than the previous Continue reading “Snapshot … Chobe”
